It is after much deliberation that our Athena's Run team has decided not to host our annual race this year. We will certainly miss celebrating life with you in person, and while we know it is not the same, we are determined to still celebrate and honor our Athena Warriors, our survivor spirit, and our community throughout the month of September and on race day, Saturday, September 26. 

Cancer doesn't stop for viruses and we won't either....WE WILL SURVIVE and with your help we will not only get through this together, but we will THRIVE. 

How can you help??

• Check out our social media, follow us on FACEBOOK and Instagram (@Athenasrun), and engage with us as we ramp up our online communication!   Follow four Athena's Warriors as they "train" for this year's social media event, while raising awareness about GYN cancers.  Share and respond to our posts, tag us in your pictures and memories. Use our hashtags: #athenasrun #athenasrunwarriorpose

• DONATE the cost of your race bib so we can keep funding GYN awareness, research, and wellness initiatives for our survivors and thrivers. 

• Help us FLOCK THE YARD!  To honor, remember, and support our Athena's Run Warriors - we are asking YOU to "adopt" a flamingo and help us flock the yard in front of the Novant Health Derrick L. Davis Cancer Center during the week of September 21, 2020.  

• Turn race day into TEAL WARRIOR DAY by wearing fun, crazy, TEAL in honor of our teal warriors and SHARE YOUR PICS with us on social media and email. We may not be together at the park the way we want, but we will be together apart. And wearing teal! 

We may not be racing together, but we are still a community and are so grateful to have each other. WE WILL SURVIVE! And together, we will THRIVE!
